It is with great sadness to inform you
that our dear colleague and friend
Alicia Agpoon-Raynor
had succumbed from her illness
and passed away on
Saturday May 24, 2008.
Alice, had served on the SCC board since September 2006 and previously held the position of Vice-President of Administration. A trained social worker in the Philippines and a government administrator back home, she brought her expertise here in Toronto by helping newcomers adjust to Canadian life through her volunteer activities. She also provided some interpreter services to some agencies serving the Filipino communities.
She will be sadly missed by the previous and current SCC community (board members, volunteers, staff and members), whom had the honour of experiencing her generous wisdom, professionalism and kindness despite her recent personal struggles.
The SCC board of directors wish to express their deepest condolences to
Alice's family here in Toronto, in the United States and in the Philippines.
