Format: 1 hour including Q & A


Topics include: immigration law, family/domestic violence law, criminal law


Tentative weekly schedule: October 29 - Nov. 2, Nov. 12 - 16, Nov. 19 - 23, Nov. 26 - 30

If there are times that overlap (ie: between family and immigration) we can send two groups to do a 45 min. presentation each. Please keep in mind that each presentation is about an hour at most, including a Q & A period.

Leadership and Skills Development Program

Level 1

Ideal for live-in caregivers, students and seniors.

This is a 10-week bi-weekly course. Each class is two hours long

Fee: $66.00 with $6.00 to be returned for each class successfully attended in recognition of the commitment of participants.

A diploma will be presented to each participant who has successfully completed seven classes.

These monies will be returned and the diploma distributed at a graduating ceremony at the Silayan office. Date and time TBA.

Topics

  1. Migration Orientation (2 classes)
  2. Basic word processing (3 classes)
  3. Internet surfing and Research (2 classes)
  4. Resume building and Job search (2 classes)
  5. Employment Standards in Ontario (1 class)

There must be at least 10 paid participants for the class to start. Classes will start in the first Saturday of October, 2007 and will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm every first and third Saturdays of every month until completed.

*Classes postponed will be announced in the Silayan blog at least three days before (That is, on Thursday). It is the responsibility of the participants to check the Silayan blog. Any postponed classes will be made up with classes tacked on at the end.
